“We have had many exciting things transpire this year, which is reflected in the caliber and quantity of VIBE nominations we received,” said DSP Executive Director Michael Ault. “We are seeing more people take ownership of this city and they are committed to making every new day better than before. We are honored, to not only work with these individuals, but are also pleased to recognize them as community champions whose passion and dedication continues to move Sacramento forward.”

The Downtown VIBE award, presented by SMUD stands for Visionary Innovators in Building Excellence and recognizes local leaders in downtown revitalization. In 2013 the VIBE award was presented to Sid Garcia-Heberger who has been involved with the Crest Theatre for more than 25 years, starting out as a self-proclaimed candy girl and moving quickly to her current position as CEO of CLSM, the corporation that operates the Crest.

The State of Downtown on January 28 will feature addresses from city of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and a keynote speech from ICON Venue Group President & CEO, Tim Romani.

Produced by the DSP, the event attracts an audience of over 500 business professionals and community leaders. The State of Downtown previews downtown revitalization initiatives and projects, and serves as a catalyst for exchanging ideas and prioritizing goals for the central business district.

Gallery seats are still available.
