Work begins on the mixed-use tower next to the Golden 1 Center

With the Golden 1 Center taking shape, work on the adjacent mixed-use tower project began last month. This $250 million development project will add a high-end 250-room Kimpton Hotel in the heart of Downtown Sacramento. In addition to the hotel, the tower will house around 50 top-floor housing units, 35,000 square feet of office space and 45,000 square feet of retail space.

The project is starting with soil stabilization and foundation work before going vertical this fall. Once complete in early 2017, the Downtown Plaza Tower will add to the transformation that Downtown Sacramento is undergoing.

With all of the activity happening in the heart of Downtown, the Golden 1 Center and the Downtown Plaza Tower will directly foster innovative business ventures and create a greater demand for additional housing and retail options.
