Band Line Up Announced for Friday Night Concerts in the Park

We are excited to announce the 2012 band line up for the Friday Night Concerts in the Park (CIP). The 21st birthday season of this free, all ages outdoor concert series will be bigger and better than ever – featuring brand new genres, legacy bands, and Sactown’s hottest DJs! The local music festival starts in Cesar Chavez Plaza every Friday night from 5 pm to 9 pm May 4 though July 27. Get a quick glimpse of all your favorite local bands before the season starts!

    I am sure there are some decent soulful groups in the region or Nor Cal.

    We should get some fresh new bands in this lineup. I heard Alma Desnuda from SF was turned down. What a shame. They would’ve been perfect!

    Carla,

    Our line up is focused on showcasing local bands from Sacramento, or those that started here. We have many new headliners this year that haven’t played in the past, and whole new genres such as California reggae and punk. Not to mention we’ve added DJs this year to spin between sets. Come on out, I think you’ll see a lot of fresh acts and have a lot of fun!
