For over 21 years, the Friday Night Concerts in the Park has been synonymous with Sacramento summers. More than 400 bands have graced the Cesar Chavez Plaza stage over the past two decades including the likes of Cake, the Deftones, and Jackie Greene. Thousands of people flock each year to the free outdoor concert series making the event Sacramento’s top summer happy hour to see and be seen. Launched in 1992 with only 300 people for the first show, the Concerts in the Park has grown in popularity by leaps and bounds now attracting more than 4,000 concertgoers per week. The Friday Night Concerts in the Park 21st season kicks off on May 4 and will feature live local bands over 13 weeks. The free, all-ages shows take place at Cesar Chavez Plaza in Downtown Sacramento every Friday night from 5 pm to 9 pm starting May 4 and continuing though July 27.
