As part of Sacramento’s bid to secure an MLS franchise, Republic FC owners have submitted a formal application for a Major League Soccer stadium in the Railyards

The proposed MLS stadium would have a total square footage of 375,000 with 175,100 sf of “assembly” area that includes the field itself, 64,200 sf of restaurant/bar space and 94,690 sf of team facilities and locker rooms, media facilities, concessions and retail space.

The project itself does not include vehicle parking spaces other than bike parking on event days. The project also includes a planned light-rail stop one block to the west on 7th Street.

Sac Soccer & Entertainment Holdings, LLC (SSEH) is driving the stadium development process with Legends as project manager and HNTB as lead architect. At the current pace of development, the new MLS stadium could open as early as March 2018.
