Prize Package

Taking a business from a dream to reality is a complicated task, and the first year is usually the most difficult for small businesses. Downtown Sacramento Foundation, with the generous support of Calling All Dreamers’ sponsors, will help the winner of the 2024 program navigate the challenges of its first year in business.

The valuable prize package is made possible due to the generous support of sponsors who continue to be champions for the economic growth of the downtown core. START-UP CAPITAL

Every new startup business needs capital. The final awardee will receive $20,000 in matching funds to help get the doors open, and each finalist who finishes the program will receive $10,000 (runner-up) or $5,000 in matching funds.

BUSINESS PLANNING & COACHING

A SCORE mentor, a seasoned business professional, will provide guidance on business planning and help refine business strategies.

The Carlsen Center For Innovation & Entrepreneurship – California State University, Sacramento will provide education, community and support to help launch cohort launch their business.
Indie Capital will provide information about available spaces within the Downtown Sacramento Partnership’s Property-Based Improvement District (PBID) boundary, as well as assistance with creating a Letter of Intent (LOI) and coaching through the lease agreement process.

BRAND CONSULTATION & CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

AmpleHQ will provide 12 hours of consultation and mentorship covering areas of business ownership the winner chooses to focus on.

EMPLOYEE SERVICES

Underground Mini Golf, owned and operated by former Calling All Dreamers winner Acme Wong, will provide the winner and their staff/investors 20 passes and the party room rental to encourage relationship building within the workplace.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Haven Studios, a downtown interior design firm passionate about supporting local entrepreneurs, will assist the winner with designing their unique space that best reflects the company’s brand.

HR CONSULTING

BizHaven curates training programs that best suit your organization to maximize your employees abilities and the business’ success. Strategically partnering with you, their HR Biz Partners are on site developing and implementing training programs that will help effectively build a positive culture and a more successful, unified operation. BizHaven will provide the winner with quarterly consultation, HR and safety meetings, prevention training, and more.

 

ADVERTISING 

LAMAR specializes in delivering advertisers the highest quality traditional and digital out-of-home media assets at LAMAR locations. Their state of the art digital billboards utilize the newest technology to reach mass audiences across the Central City region.

Inside Publications’ newspapers are the leading community-centric newspapers in the Sacramento area. Each publication features cover art by local artists and stories highlighting volunteers, small businesses, home, and more. Inside will provide the winner with a ½ page advertising campaign in Inside [Land Park, East Sacramento, Arden and Pocket] Publications.
iHeart Media (NASDAQ: IHRT) is the number one audio company in the United States, reaching nine out of 10 Americans every month. iHeartMedia will provide the winner with a digital package valued at $5,000 to promote their business to the masses.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

With more than 25 years of experience on local, regional and national levels, T-Rock Communications provides a wide range of consumer-focused media and public relations expertise. T-Rock will work with the winner to develop proactive marketing tactics that support the overall brand as well as provide grand opening outreach designed to generate positive local media interest and maximize public support for the new business.

 

There are no substitutions, transfers, or cash equivalents for prizes except that DSF may, at its sole discretion, make modifications or substitutions if necessary. The prizes are expressly limited to the items listed and unless otherwise expressly specified, do not include taxes, gratuities, or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.

 Winner will be responsible for initiating consult and have up to a twelve-month period following the date of award to utilize pro bono services. Any unused portion of the Prize Package at the twelve-month point will be forfeited.
