Sacramento’s Halloween Town
I know we love bringing out-of-town friends and family to Old Sac, but have you made the time to appreciate it just for yourself? Even though it’s 90 degrees, we can still celebrate the fall season, and the best place to do so is in Old Sacramento! Picture pumpkins everywhere, super cool fall decorations, and Halloween-themed food and drinks – set in the old west.
The main event is the big pumpkin on K Street! In the same place we normally host the holiday tree, is a pumpkin straight from Halloweentown. Wear your witch costume and check it out, take photos, cast a spell, or whatever your heart desires.
More Halloween magic in Old Sac:

- Hayrides: Enjoy a scenic hayride through the historic district, courtesy of Top Hand Ranch ($3 per ride).
- Scarecrow Contest: Wander through the district to find creative scarecrows designed by local businesses, and vote for your favorite online.
- Harvest Specials: From fall-themed dishes to pumpkin-flavored drinks, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops are offering seasonal treats throughout October. Be sure to try out the Pumpkin Espresso Martini!
- Ghost Tours: For those seeking a thrill, join the Sacramento History Museum for spine-tingling ghost tours and learn about Sacramento’s haunted past.
Movies Under the Stars is ALMOST sold out, so if you haven’t purchased a ticket, you want to do it now! Monster House is an animated scary movie you probably haven’t seen in a while. It’s about three kids exploring a haunted house, trying to make it out alive. If you’re like me, you watch Twilight every time the clouds cover the sun. This cult classic vampire teenage love story is one of my favorites, and I sprang for the luxury seats to experience full comfort.
