Your Ultimate Guide to New Year’s Eve in Downtown Sacramento

featured image

As 2024 comes to a close, Downtown Sacramento is the place to be for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve! I know it’s nice and way more affordable to spend New Year’s Eve in, but it can be really fun celebrating the New Year with your city in a way you haven’t before. I’ll be traveling this NYE, but if I was home, these are the parties I’d want to go to. Here’s a roundup of the best events to ring in the new year!

Countdown on the Cobblestones

Time: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Old Sacramento Waterfront
This is where I’d want to ring in the new year and watch the “Pyrotechnics light show” for free with families! There will be local performers playing throughout the night, including The Philharmonik, DJ Epik, Element Brass Band, DJ El Indio, and more!

NYE at Laughs Unlimited with Ellis Rodriguez

Time: Showtimes at 7:00 PM & 10:00 PM
Location: Laughs Unlimited, 1207 Front Street
Comedy shows are so underrated and what a fun way to ring in the new year! Tickets are only $34 and you’re guaranteed to giggle. I like this because it’s only a few hours of your night and you can invite as many people as you want to join you.

No-Cover New Year’s Eve at Tipsy Putt

Time: 9:00 PM – 11:55 PM
Location: Tipsy Putt, 630 K Street
This is for sure going to be a vibe! There’s going to be a live DJ, which I hope would mean there’s dancing. Plus, I think the unlimited drinks and games package is affordable. Four friends for $200, basically $50 bucks a person (not including tip, but still), is a STEAL to drink unlimited bevvys and play unlimited games for 3 hours. I’m a duffle board girl, so I’d want to play a round with friends.

Toast to 2025 at Clayton Club Rooftop Lounge

Time: 6:00 PM – 11:59 PM
Location: Clayton Club, 1122 7th Street
Another “no cover” night out option, Clayton Club is a chic rooftop lounge with delish craft cocktails, and stunning views of downtown. If I wanted to dress up and order a bottle of something sparkling, it’d be at Clayton Club. Plus, they’re offering a complimentary champagne toast at midnight!

Downtown Sacramento New Year’s Eve Bash at Trophy Club

Time: 9:00 PM – 11:55 PM
Location: Trophy Club, 630 K Street
For $55 a person, get unlimited bites, and a welcome cocktail and a champagne toast at midnight — I think this is worth it with the right guest, ideally a date who you’re still getting to know. Trophy Club is so swanky and romantic, I’d be down! If you have 5 friends who all have $100, you could also get a table with a bottle of Dom!

Crawl ‘Til the Ball Falls: Sacramento NYE Bar Crawl 2024

Time: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Location: Multiple Venues in Downtown Sacramento
In my prime, I’d definitely get a group of friends to go to a bar crawl on NYE. The tickets are $20, there will be specials at each spot, it’s all walkable, and you can really leave whenever you want. I like that this one is in Old Sac, so you can catch the Countdown on the Cobblestones too!

New Year’s Eve Sights and Sips Cruise

Time: Boarding at 7:30 PM
Location: Hornblower Cruises, 1206 Front Street
For those that want a memorable and unique New Years Eve, a cruise is the way to go! For $77, you get an hour and a half on the water, a complimentary glass of champagne, and a DJ playing top 40 hits. You’re paying for the experience, and I think it’s worth going. There is a full bar and food options as well.

Disco Cowboy New Year’s Eve

Time: 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: Revival at the Sawyer, 500 J Street
The guys and gals that love a theme — Disco Cowboy NYE enters the chat. This party is at Revival at The Sawyer, tickets are $195 and include: call cocktails, house red/white wine, beer, and lite passed appetizers for three hours. I feel like this has all the ingredients for a fun night out. I love that it’s one location and the bathrooms are going to be nice.

Had to include something for the kids. There will be story telling, guided gold panning, and a BALLOON DROP! This is during the day and likely to have cute photo opportunities.
