Welcome to 2017 | Downtown Partnership

This past year, we’ve seen significant building in our city’s core and progress with respect to our key priorities for moving Downtown Sacramento forward.

The opening of the Golden 1 Center marked a transformative milestone for Downtown Sacramento. The catalytic project is already rapidly changing the landscape of downtown Sacramento, spurring unprecedented change and injecting new life in the surrounding area. Downtown Sacramento is proving a viable and attractive market for investors, entrepreneurs and residents. Golden 1 Center was one of a number of factors contributing to the increasing growth, vibrancy and opportunity of downtown in 2016.

Looking ahead, 2017 is slated to be the year of grand openings as several highly anticipated projects, including The Sawyer Hotel and Downtown Commons, 700 K Street, and others, open their doors downtown. We are particularly excited to celebrate the opening of 2016 Calling All Dreamers small business competition winner, Oblivion Comics & Coffee, in early 2017.

A vibrant and activated urban core is the foundation for a strong and economically thriving city. Programing and special events remain critical to attract customers, visitors and residents alike. In addition to the more than 150 downtown events planned in 2017, Downtown Partnership will again produce events 184 days of the year. Visit GoDowntownSac.com regularly for event information and attend events and programs downtown whenever you can. Mark your calendar now for our signature events:

  • Dine Downtown | January 12–22
  • State of Downtown | January 25
  • Farmers’ Markets | May 2–October 25
  • Concerts in the Park | May 5–July 28
  • Ice Rink | November 3–January 15, 2018

With the exciting changes in downtown Sacramento, Downtown Partnership has also recognized the need to evolve with our district. I encourage you to join us at the 19th Annual State of Downtown breakfast on Wednesday January 25 at Memorial Auditorium when we officially launch our refreshed identity for a new era of downtown. We look forward to working with you in 2017 to continue building value downtown.
