Sacramento Kings Owner & Chairman Vivek Ranadivé will Deliver Keynote Address at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (February 10, 2025) – Produced by Downtown Sacramento Partnership and presented by Kaiser Permanente, the annual State of Downtown breakfast will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 8 to 10 a.m. at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. This landmark event welcomes speakers that include Mayor Kevin McCarty, Sacramento State University President Dr. Luke Wood, Athletics Interim President Sandy Dean, and Downtown Sacramento Partnership Executive Director Michael Ault. Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé will deliver a special keynote presentation.
This year’s theme, Progress Through Partnership, continues the story set forth at last year’s event that defined the vision and goals for downtown’s future. The focus now shifts to laying out the framework for achieving that vision, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that drive meaningful change, even in unpredictable times.
“Uncertainty is an opportunity for us to define what comes next,” said Michael Ault, Executive Director of Downtown Sacramento Partnership. “We want history to reflect that despite financial constraints and the weight of complex social challenges, we rose to the occasion as a united front. This is about setting future generations up for success.”
As the owner and chairman of the Sacramento Kings, Vivek Ranadivé has been a driving force behind the revitalization of downtown Sacramento, highlighted by the development of the Golden 1 Center. He will share his insights on the power of community collaboration and his vision for strengthening Sacramento’s position as a premier sports and entertainment destination.
The State of Downtown will feature the annual JVance Stewart Award for Community Service, recognizing individuals and organizations passionate about improving the quality of life in downtown through service. Attendees will also hear from key downtown stakeholders including Kaiser Permanente, Sacramento Kings, and SMUD.
