Signa is plant shop in Southside Park hosting affordable community art events. For Photography Month, we are hosting a photo event EVERY weekend in April, and each gallery is FREE. Accompanying classes and interactive events hosted by local artists sharing their practice help pay for gallery setup and staffing.

April 12 – Joseph Anderson + Community Artists – FREE

Joseph captures the everyday life of our city through raw street photography. We are excited to host a sample of his body of work in The Garden Room.

Our morning class is DIY Bonsai, hosted by Nou Vang. No previous experience is needed to join our indoor/outdoor class, where you can learn the process of creating a work of living art for your home! All materials provided on site by Murayama Bonsai Nursery.

10am – DIY Bonsai with Nou Vang – $25
4pm – Gallery Opening – FREE

April 19 – Joshua De La Cerda + Community Artists – FREE

Joshua, a longtime Southside Park resident and activist, will be showcasing a portrait of the neighborhood's seasons of peace and upheaval alongside local DJs and vendors. The gallery will be on display over the weekend with free viewing on the 19th – Class schedule TBD.

4pm – Gallery Opening – FREE

April 26 – Phoenix Kanada + Community Artists – FREE

Phoenix is a poet and photographer, presenting samples of black and white photography, with a meditative poetry exercise and reading room.
The gallery will be on display for open viewing until our closing on May 3rd.

10am – Poetry at Signa – $15
4pm – Gallery opening – FREE
