The following events will be held downtown during the first two weeks of October, please expect increased foot traffic.

October 1: 5:30 a.m.­–8 p.m. – Sacramento Century Challenge | Capitol Mall | 1,400 attendees

  • Capitol Mall will be closed between 5th and 7th streets

October 1: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. – Sacramento Walk to End Alzheimer’s | South Steps of the Capitol | 4,000 attendees

October 1: 8 a.m.–1 p.m. – Sacramento Out of the Darkness Walk | West Steps of the Capitol | 1,500 attendees

October 2: 8 a.m.–1 p.m. – JDRF Walk | West Steps of the Capitol | 5,000 attendees

October 8: 12–10 p.m. – Deschutes Street Pub | Midtown Sacramento | 10,000 attendees

  • Capitol Avenue will be closed between 17th and 19th
  • 18th Street will be closed between N and L streets

October 8: 12–6 p.m. – Latin Food and Music Festival | Cesar Chavez Plaza | 3,500 attendees

October 11: 6–10 p.m. – Sacramento Taco Party | Cesar Chavez Plaza | 1,000 attendees

October 15: 6 a.m.–12 p.m. ­– Walk 4 Literacy | Cesar Chavez Plaza and McClatchy Park | 3,000 attendees

October 16: 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. – MakingStrides Against Breast Cancer of Sacramento | West Steps of the Capitol | 20,000 attendees
