Concerts in the Park Announces Epsilona for Encore Show August 5

Epsilona will replace Joseph In The Well for the rescheduled show with  Geographer headlining

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 20, 2016) – Concerts in the Park is bringing another Northern California musical talent, Epsilona, to the stage for the August 5 season finale concert, with headliner Geographer. Epsilona will take the place of Joseph In the Well from the original lineup of the May 20 concert that was rescheduled to August 5 because of rain. Joseph In The Well is unable to play the encore show due to scheduling conflicts.

Epsilona is a local favorite, indie-psych groove rock group with a growing fan base, known for their unique psych-pop sound. In November 2015 they played a sold out show at Harlow’s, to release their debut EP, ­­­­­­­­“Thinkers,” and they were the headline performance at First Festival this past Saturday where they announced their CIP concert participation.

“­­­­­Epsilona is a great addition to an already killer lineup this season,” said Sureena Johl, events manager with Downtown Sacramento Partnership. “They were number one on the band waitlist and we couldn’t have asked for a better substitute for our season finale concert.”

• July 8: Tyler Rich, Hannah Jane Kile, Colleen Heauser, Taylor Green, DJ Rawhide
• July 22: Some Fear None, Cemetery Sun, Sages, A Mile Till Dawn, DJ Oasis
• August 5: Geographer, Epsilona, Dusty Brown, Death Party At the Beach, Young Aundee

Special CIP nights to look forward to:

• June 24 *Sacramento Republic FC Night: Concertgoers will have the opportunity to hang out with Sac Republic players and are encouraged to don their favorite fan apparel. Team reps will hand out swag and host ticket giveaways.
• July 15 *Art Night: Local artists will be demonstrating their craft and exhibiting their work throughout the plaza.

Continuing through the series, the fun revs up at multiple downtown after party locations with various discounts and deals like happy hour pricing and free cover offered to concertgoers wearing a CIP wristband.

Concerts are held weekly on Fridays at Cesar Chavez Plaza from 5-9 p.m., through August 5 (no show July 1). Parking and transportation options include nearby parking garages such as City Hall Garage, Park Tower Garage and Capitol Garage; RT light rail using routes 30, 62, 86 and 88 (visit sacrt.com for routes and times); free bike valet offered on-site at the SABA Bike Corral, presented by Kaiser Permanente; and, metered street parking.
